Wild caught birds
On Thursday 11th January 2007, EU animal health experts agreed to a permanent ban on the commercial trade of wild caught birds. This new ruling excludes Captive-bred birds. These will be able to enter the EU. The permanent ban came into effect on 1st July 2007.

Update: May 2008 Unfortunately, the brutal trade in wild caught birds has focused its full attention toward Asia and Africa with a vengence due to the EU rightfully closing its door. Therefore, wild birds continue to suffer and die at the evil hands of the unmerciful.
