There are two main types of african grey parrot.
The two types are the Central African grey which has a red tail and the Timneh which is smaller and has a marroon tail. The rest of the body is covered in mottled grey feathers.
African greys are renowned for their mimicry and talking abilities and indeed there is good evidence that they even know or can be taught what the words actually mean. Scientific evidence put these vibrant creatures on par with dolphins and apes with the emotional intelligence and sensitivity above a three-year old child.
